I started Island Insulation in 2025 to fill the gap of a reliable insulation company on Waiheke Island. Being local means better and faster service for you, and our community focused business model means working with you and your specific budget and situation for the best ROI.

I spent 5 years in the Rainwater Systems industry on Waiheke Island, where I was privileged to work with a diverse team on jobs that included nearly 2/3 of the islands properties.

I spent a year in Otago, where Rainwater Systems were less widely used. I took up working with an insulation team and learnt the ins and outs of insulation for a year. I saw a gap in the insulation industry: in Rainwater Systems the occupant and homeowner was directly consulted to fine tune a system they were happy with and understood fully, eduction was an important part of a successful system. However, the insulation industry was often cut and paste, home owners and developers were out of touch with what they were actually paying for and how that would influence their home.

My philosophy I hope to bring to Island Insulation is a better connect and better service experience. Problem solving and spending time to diagnose heat loss or moisture issues rather than selling cut and paste systems.

I also hope to continue to work with the community to address related issues many homes face and provide reasonable and reliable solutions. Solutions for: heat loss, high energy bills, mould, damp, condensation, and leaks. Bringing: advanced thermal imaging, better smart systems, monitoring of your homes temperature and air quality testing to the table.
